Halloween Party and Conference

Another Halloween picture...

And...
Nathan submitted a paper proposal and he was accepted to present it for the 2010 Western Political Science Association Annual Meeting (WPSA).

It will be at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero Center in San Francisco from April 1 – 3, 2010.

The paper is called-- The Long Term State Level Benefits of Third World Urbanization.

We are both very excited. Now he just has to write it....

I've gone crafty

With the new semester I've decided to use my wide expanse of time during the day to do something useful (besides sleeping in and watching Hogan's Heros reruns). These are easy projects and would probably take no time at all to do. Though Kendyl helps stretch the time out with only a few minutes here and there....so here's what I've come up with so far.

These are wood cut outs with scrap booking paper on top.
Kitchen curtains made out of 2 tea towels (this is the kind of sewing I can handle).
And remember these pillows. We got them when we got married and they've gone pretty flat since then.
Well I stole some stuffing from some other pillows and re-stuffed them and covered them in some fun fabric. Since we have such a hodge-podge of furniture I figured I would just do the same with the pillows.
So flip them over and ta-da!
Also I found this mirror at DI. It was green and had a birdhouse in the corner. I sanded it down and took of the birdhouse and glued the glass on the edges. I had a few other ideas but none turned out. Still not sure how I feel about it though.....
That's all. More to come later...maybe

The grass is always greener...

After all the coaching, coxing, prodding, demonstratingbribing, begging and applauding to get our child to crawl,

what do we do when she finally does???

Put her in a box of course--so she won't crawl away.

Now if we could only get her to walk!
