San Francisco

I decided I'm slowly going to post pictures of our adventures over the last month. These are from when we were in San Francisco at the very beginning of April.

View overlooking the lobby in our hotel.
It was probably the nicest hotel I'd ever been in but since it was a business hotel it had no pool or free breakfast. There was a snack bar in the room that had sensors that would charge you if you touched the food in it. I've never been more tempted to have a $5 bag of M&Ms. The only TV channels were news stations. (And I was so looking forward to watching HGTV, the food network, and tvland.) Basically I would have traded it all for a Best Western with a pastry in the morning, a jacuzzi, and a little Bewitched.....but really it was fun.

and the bed was SUPER comfortable
the view from our room was pretty amazing too
here's me doing what I do best on vacations....reading/sleeping?

Nathan with his poster that he was presenting, which was basically the whole reason why were there.
Ferry Building on the Embarcadero
April 1st and a crowd celebrating by holding a pointless protest. They were all dressed up in super crazy costumes and funny signs. It was pretty funny until the nudists (don't worry-not pictured) showed up.
The Vashers drove up and we went to lunch and walked around Fisherman's Wharf.
San Francisco seemed to be rubbing off on Nate and Joey.
Kendyl enjoying being 7 feet tall for the day.

Letter from Uganda

I finally got an email from Nathan this morning. And if anyone's curious here is what he's been up to the last few days.

I have so much to tell you about. This trip has already been well worth it. I got pretty sick yesterday. I think that it was just heat exhaustion, nothing more.We went to Owino market yesterday. It is one of the largest markets in all of East Africa. It was so crazy. i will show you pictures when we get home and stuff. I have taken around 200 pictures so far. This place is so green and it has crazy red dirt. It is really pretty. I went running yesterday morning. My lungs hurt really bad because of all the smoke that is in the air here. The people (like many place in the developing world) burn charcoal to heat and cook everything. We also went to a school yesterday. We just got back from church about an hour ago. It was really cool to hear the people bear their testimonies. It was pretty much the same as our ward, as far as what they were saying and stuff. They had a baptism right after sacrament meeting today. Our group seems to be getting along really well. It is fun. A kid at church today looked at me and said "You are really white!" It was really funny.

I'm glad he's having fun but we both sure miss him!!
